CLUSTERFUNK This Friday 2/26!
Greetings, Funk Lovers! Your favorite monthly funk freakout returns to Cameo (back of Lovin Cup, 93 N 6th btw Berry and Wythe, Bedford L) this Friday, 2/26! The classic soul band Milkfat starts the night off right at 10pm. Throwing some afro-beat into the mix will be the formidable Ikebe Shakedown at 11. We've thrown down with these guys before, and let me tell you, it gets messy. In a good way! Turkuaz is set to destroy at midnight, with our favorite DJ THE CZECH spinning the best discofunksoulmotown all night long! And as usual, $5 will get you a shot of bourbon and a High Life (Cameo Special). So come early, stay late, and bring your dancing shoes, 'cause this is gonna be ridiculous.
See you Friday!

CLUSTERFUNK IS BACK, BABY!!
Greetings to all! If one of your New Years resolutions was to have more funk and soul in your life, I'm here to help you! On Friday, January 29th, CLUSTERFUNK returns to everyone's favorite big little venue, Cameo. As usual, Turkuaz will be funking your funking faces off with furious funk. As usual, our favorite DJ friend THE CZECH will be spinning the best discofunkmotownsoul records before, in-between, and after the bands. As usual, presenting a $5 bill (or any other combination of legal U.S. tender equalling $5) to the bartender will get you a shot of bourbon and a Miller High Life. Joining us for the first time, however, is Lyle Divinsky and the Sunshine Express. Our pal Lyle is an exceptional soul singer, and his new band the Sunshine Express will have you soul-clappin' and foot stampin' and many other things that sound and look cool when you take off the 'g.'

I'd like to thanks...
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I cannot put into words our gratitude for all those who took the walk down that hall last Friday, took a free shot of bourbon from a lanky guy in a pink coat (or not if you came too late!) and got down during the night of awesome afrobeat and funk. Thanks to you, Clusterfunk packed Cameo (and The Lovin Cup) and we all enjoyed a raucous night of hard grooves and smooth moves. Good friends toasted their shots of bourbon and chased them with matching PBR's and I ate a grilled cheese that tasted good to me and all were merry like mischievous forest sprites.
Ikebe Shakedown absolutely destroyed it! It's always an honor to share the stage with such a tight horn section, and all of Turkuaz was thoroughly impressed with their grooves. The air is filled with the smell of future collaborations (as in, "do I smell future collaborations?" If not framed in that context, the previous statement might have come off a bit odd). You have not seen the last of these guys.
Thanks also to James Lucius Gray and EVZEE. Props also to Evan for controlling the dope visual flows up on the wall. You also haven't seen the last of him.
When will CLUSTERFUNK return?! What madness will be conjured up next time?! What about the children?!?!?
Answers, in time, will be revealed. For now, I leave you with a video of Mr. Bootsy Collins teaching all of us the basic funk formula.

EARLY BIRD GETS THE FREE BOOZE!!
There will be a free shot of whatever the hell booze we feel like buying for the first X amount of people that arrive to the show. The value of X is dependent on how generous our pouring hand decides to be. I know my pouring hand usually feels pretty generous, so X might start to dwindle, meaning COME AT 9!! DJ EVZEE will start on time...
Will you?
